The U.S. could combine some of the most advanced technologies with the brightest minds from the public and private sectors to better protect the nation from cyber attacks.

Strengthening the country’s cybersecurity could be achieved through close collaboration between industry and government. This would allow both parties to  leverage modern cybersecurity strategies across both ecosystems.

The Cybersecurity Executive Order (EO) the Biden Administration signed on May 12 represents a step in recognizing cybersecurity as a national priority. It also provides clear and concise recommendations on how to address ever-changing cyber attacks that are becoming increasingly more sophisticated.

The goal is to modernize the government’s IT infrastructure and enable agencies to be more proactive when dealing with cyber threats. The order provides a lot of short-term requirements that federal agencies must adhere to. These requirements will improve the overall security of the federal government.

Working in partnership, industry and government can accelerate the adoption of modernized security systems.
